Minnesota Ice Fishing - Lake of the Woods Fishing Report Video 1-27-12

In this addition of the Wigwam Fishing Report Video, the Wigwam Fisherman, Wiggles and a couple of Wiggles’ buddies get 4 hours of fishing on this overcast, windy and cold January day. We were fishing in 33 feet of water in one of the Wigwam Ice Houses in the big bowl about 8 miles past Pine Island. Not to many Walleyes on this quick excursion, but plenty of Saugers and one jumbo Perch! Fishing was a little slow for most of the afternoon, but like we say in the video, it only takes 30 minutes to make a great day of fishing, and we got it! Thank you all for paying attention and we hope you get some great information from the video, to ensure you have the right equipment for your next amazing adventure on Lake of the Woods, the World’s Best Hard Water Fishery! Happy Fishing and God Bless!

The Wigwam Fisherman and the Wigwam crew get one final day on the hard water before the Christmas holiday consumed us. We fished deeper than we had before this season in 29 feet of water and the fish are everywhere! Not only are we getting some bigger Walleyes out deep, but I also heard that in 14 feet of water out of Lighthouse Gap in the evenings it has been on FIRE!!!! The pink Charmer from Tom’s Tackle is cleaning up, not only with us, but also with most of our guests…it simply works. Merry Christmas from myself and the rest of the crew at the Wigwam Resort…Happy Fishing and God Bless!

In this addition of the Wigwam Fishing Report Video, the Wigwam Fisherman gets the pleasure of testing out of few new lures from JR’s Tackle with the boys from JR’s (Joel, Lance & Ed). Even with the huge change in temperature (40 degrees to 6 degrees) in 12 hours. The fish were still active and biting with authority. We fished in 29 & 32 feet of water west of the Big Pine on Pine Island, which is about 3 miles out from Pine. The hot lure on the day was the “Hot Tamale” (Pink/Glitter Glow Gold) with a live or frozen Shiner, either worked with similar success. I just wanted to thank everyone once again for paying attention to this report, and hopefully it will give you the success you’re looking for while fishing on the World’s Best Hard Water Fishery, Lake of the Woods. Happy Fishing and God Bless! PS – If you’d like to submit a name for JR’s “New Lure”, please send all your submissions to the Wigwam Resort, Attention JR’s New Lure, at wigwam@wiktel.com.

The Wigwam Fisherman takes you on another Lake of the Woods adventure on the World’s Best Hard Water Fishery in this addition of the Wigwam Fishing Repot. The Sauger bite is indescribable and out of this world at this particular moment in our history, and just plain old fun! The fish are still crusing in 18 – 23 feet of water from Morris to Lighthouse Gaps. Our buddies with a few other resorts in the area have started to move out just a tad bit deeper in 25 -27 feet and finding some more Walleyes, but not in the concentration that we’re finding the Saugers currently. Also the people that are moving out deeper are fighting some bad spots in the ice and you must only proceed with caution when traveling to far off Pine Island. Happy Fishing and be safe…God Bless.
